Keynote: From Replication to Triangulation and Beyond: Multiple-Method/Study Trends in IS Research

BIOSKETCH: Han Zhang is a Chair Professor and Dean of School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also an affiliate research faculty member of the Center for Research in Electronic Commerce at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Zhang's research focuses on the economics of information technology, online trust and reputation, online word-of-mouth, and the evolution of electronic markets. His research work on the institutional setup to help small businesses grow in the digital economy has been used as the basis for testimony before the Congressional House Committee on Small Business. His research has appeared in several premier journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Decision Support Systems among others. Dr. Zhang currently serves as a senior editor for MIS Quarterly. He is also a senior editor Journal of Information Systems and E-Business Management. Recently, he has assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief for Information & Management journal. Dr. Zhang was one of the founding members to initiate the China Summer Workshop on Information Management (CSWIM) in 2007. He was the Program Co-Chair of the Sixth Workshop on e-Business (WeB) in 2007. He was also the workshop Co-Chair of the Inaugural China Summer Workshop on Information Management (CSWIM 2007) and the Fourth China Summer Workshop on Information Management (CSWIM 2010) and the Program Co-Chair of the 14th Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems in 2010.

Keynote: An Editor’s View of Generative AI

ABSTRACT: Generative AI has become a hot topic in society and academia more generally. While some researchers explore how they can exploit Generative AI, others are concerned with the dark side of this technology and the unwanted consequences. In this keynote, I will present my own perspective, as an editor in chief of a premier journal. I will highlight journal policies and present some illustrative examples. I hope to stimulate a debate in the audience.

BIOSKETCH: Robert Davison is a Professor of Information Systems at the City University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the use and misuse of information systems, especially with respect to problem solving, guanxi formation and knowledge management. He is particularly known for his scholarship in the domain of action research. Robert is the Editor-in-Chief of the Information Systems Journal, the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries and the Information Systems Practice Journal. He is also Chair of IFIP’s Technical Committee 9 (ICT and Society). As a researcher and as an editor, he seeks to promote both an inclusive and an indigenous perspective to research.

ABSTRACT: Emerging and essential information technology, especially artificial Intelligence (AI) and extended reality (xR), has attracted tremendous public attention and has had profound impacts. There is no doubt that further innovation and maturity of these technologies will continue to facilitate human advancements. What and how can AI/xR shape and contribute to people, businesses, organizations, and society deserve careful scrutiny and timely research endeavor from our academic community.

BIOSKETCH:Professor Chen is a professor of Analytics, Information, and Operations in the School of Business at the University of Kansas. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Information Management from University of Connecticut. His current teaching and research interests include knowledge management, IT business value, human computer interface design, database management, and business and web programming applications. His research work appears in Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Operational Research, Information & Management, Information Systems Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, MIS Quarterly, and international conferences and workshops such as AMCIS, DSI, ICIS, PACIS, and WITS.

BIOSKETCH: Minh Hoàng Hà is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, College of Technology, National Economics University. His primary research interests lie in combinatorial optimization, with practical applications in supply chain management and finance. His work has been published in leading journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part C, Health Care Management Science, and Journal of the Operational Research Society as well as presented at top-tier conferences including the International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling (ICAPS) and the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO). As a core member of the ORLab research group, Dr. Hà has contributed to the development of intelligent optimization solutions that improve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness for organizations and enterprises, both in Vietnam and internationally.

Keynote: Application of AI in E-commerce

BIOSKETCH: Ms. Oanh Le Hoang currently serves as the Director General of the Department of E‑Commerce and Digital Economy under Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade. She was appointed to this position in March 2023, following her tenure as Director General of the Department of Asia‑Africa Markets. In her current role, she oversees all aspects of e‑commerce and digital economy policy—ranging from strategy development, regulatory framework formulation, and international cooperation, to administrative reform and oversight of digital trade projects. She led the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BIDV in June 2025 to advance digital payment systems and support the digital transformation of small and medium enterprises. Previously, as Director General of the Asia‑Africa Market Department (Vụ AP), Ms. Oanh spearheaded efforts to expand Vietnamese exports into Asia and Africa. Her leadership resulted in trade volumes consistently representing 67-70 % of Vietnam's total external trade from 2020-2022, and included outreach to markets such as China, India, and South Africa. She also managed high-level trade missions, bilateral trade negotiations, and regular policy research supporting overseas market strategy. Ms. Oanh has a strong record in intergovernmental collaboration and party leadership. She served as Party Committee Secretary within her department and coordinated overseas delegations, multi‑party meetings, and mixed commissions under her leadership. At the forefront of Vietnam's e‑commerce governance, she chaired the inter‑ministerial consultation process to draft a new E‑Commerce Law in early 2025, engaging multiple levels of government and integrating policy recommendations for regulatory modernization.
