Using magnetic resonance imaging MRI, lead investigator Dr Atushi Yonemura National Defense Medical College, Saitama, Japan and colleagues report that treatment with atorvastatin 20 mg for 12 months resulted in marked LDL cholesterol reduction and significant plaque regression in the thoracic aorta but only slowed plaque progression in the abdominal aorta. |
